COVID-19 CONTACT TRACING RESOURCES FOR LEADERS

In response to many requests for additional information on back to work guidelines and contact tracing, click here for two documents for your reference. The “Contact Tracing Process” document provides details about CHLA’s overall contact tracing process along with communications templates.  The “COVID-19 Exposure Risk Assessment for MANAGERS” document is a two-page reference guide with quarantine and testing recommendations. We recommend also saving the link as a favorite so that you can refer to the most recent versions of the attached documents as CHLA periodically makes changes.  We would like to emphasize that the CHLA guidelines are intended to ensure adequate and safe staffing for the hospital.  They do differ from the LA County guidelines that are much more restrictive.

COMPLIANCE COUNTS

Click here to view the bimonthly edition of Compliance Counts! for the months of August/September 2020. CHLA has experienced a breathtaking transition to increased telehealth services during March and April, and might have expected some documentation challenges to arise. This edition focuses on required documentation for time-based codes, a reminder of time thresholds for prolonged services and discharge day management codes (99238 and 99239), increases in pediatric COVID-19 cases, finishing with a few articles about phishing, ransomware attacks, and a physician assistant kickback case in dermatology.

For N95 masks, CHLA advises use only for aerosolized procedures, so please provide reason for request and who will be using these in your office (clinicians, front staff, MAs, RNs) as we conserve supplies. CHLA has more flexibility in providing face shields.
